Thanks to everyone who was praying for our recent missions trip to South Africa. It was an incredible experience. Our team visited different churches, holding several services. We helped out at a leadership training and had the opportunity to serve those in need by providing a hot lunch as well as visiting an orphanage. Over and over we saw many touched by the love of Jesus. Several people made a commitment in following Jesus and many of those serving in the church (pastors & leaders) were refreshed and renewed as the Holy Spirit came in power. I had the opportunity to preach at a church in an area called "Seaview", the church was called "City of Refuge". The pastor was a great man and his congregation were hungry and thirsty for more of the presence of Jesus. We had an incredible time. I also spoke at a Revival Meeting at a Vineyard Church in Chatsworth. Again, it was a wonderful time and many were refreshed and empowered in the things of the Spirit. I've added photos to the Photo Gallery, feel free to check them out. And, as always, email me to let me know what you've been up to and what the Lord is doing in and thru your life. God bless!peace,David Welker
I'll be spending a couple of weeks in South Africa (June 24th - July 6th). I have the opportunity to teach, preach and pray for many people in Durban as well as a couple of other coastal city churches. We will also be sharing the gospel in some very poor, shanty villages. I appreciate your prayers during this trip. The church there has been praying for renewal & revival. I feel that we may see a lot of healing... in many facets. I'll be posting some pics and stories about the trip. Feel free to respond on this blog and let me know that you're praying and what God has been doing in your life. Thanks!
I'm reading a book by Joel Vestal called "Dangerous Faith". I'm not quite done with it, but already, I'd recommend it. It's an incredible story of one person's journey of faith as it pertains to a call into missions. Very encouraging and full of interesting stories.
